For many social entrepreneurs, employing staff can be a daunting prospect, but with the right approach to HR, you can build a firm foundation on which to grow your business. Good recruitment practices will ensure you get the best people on board to help you meet your mission, and good policies and procedures will help you motivate and retain them.

Our next free masterclass for anyone registered on the Social Enterprise Exchange programme seeks to give you an insight into the core elements of HR and employment law by focusing on the key things you should consider at each stage of the HR lifecycle. The session will be held on the morning of Monday 17th October at Blend Kitchen in Sheffield and will be led by Phoebe Davis, an experienced HR and Recruitment Advisor at Bhayani Recruitment and Bhayani Law.

Through a mixture of presentations and interactive sessions you’ll gain a good grasp of this important topic area. You’ll go away with an idea of the steps you need to take when preparing to become an employer and an understanding of what to do if things don’t go to plan.

The session will begin with breakfast and an opportunity to network with other social enterprises. There’ll be additional chances to network and to discuss your learning with others throughout the morning.

To access this valuable free CPD you must be registered with the Social Enterprise Exchange programme and your business must be based in the Sheffield City Region area. If you have questions about the event or registration please email pete@ssen.org.uk or call 07548 831962.
