Over the last few months, a number of organisations in the city have been working to enable an open, inclusive and collaborative process towards a set of Sheffield City Goals which will drive our response to the changing and challenging world we live in. They will guide us all to dream big and to build a Sheffield in shape for current and future generations.

As part of this process we want to hear the views of the social enterprise sector. We aim to capture the knowledge and perspectives of social enterprises at a Deep Listening session which will be held at Blend Kitchen on the morning of Monday 5th June.

Deep Listening is a way of uncovering those insights that aren’t always factored into goal setting. It will allow the working group to gather hundreds of insights from a relatively small number of people, compared to gathering a handful of ‘facts’ from a larger number of respondents.

Deep Listening is not about consultation. We won’t be bringing any particular ideas to be tested. Neither are we defending anything or taking the opportunity to provide information. Instead it’s about providing a space where you can openly and freely peel back the layers on your own perspectives and lived experiences.

This free session, facilitated by the Sheffield Social Enterprise Network team, is open to anyone who wants to take part and starts with a networking breakfast at 9.00am. There will be plenty of other opportunities to network and to work with your fellow social entrepreneurs throughout the morning.

If you have questions about the event or registration please email pete@ssen.org.uk or call 07548 831962.

We ask that you please register at least 72 hours prior to the event. Although the event is free, if you find that you are no longer able to make your place, please do try to give us 72 hours notice so that we can give relevant numbers to the venue.

Delivered by Sheffield Social Enterprise Network, in partnership with The Social Enterprise Exchange Programme.
