We believe that being inspired by others is one of the best ways to stay passionate and motivated to continue doing what is important to you…And who doesn’t need a bit of motivation!

At this lunchtime session we’ll be joined by James Lock, Co-Founder and Director of Sheffield based social enterprise, Opus Independents Ltd. Opus projects include Now Then Magazine, Festival of Debate, Opus Distribution and UBI Lab Network.

James describes himself as a joyfully flawed father of two young children. He is enthusiastic and hopeful about contributing to a world which values all humans and other-than humans, is ecologically restorative and which gives primacy to wellbeing, mutual care, quality of life and discovery.

James has over ten years of experience working cross-sector in a variety of project management, development and delivery roles. He is motivated by how projects, platforms, networks and new cultural narratives can be developed to respond to systemic problems upstream.

James works on hyper-local community led projects in Sheffield and across South Yorkshire, as well as internationally across a variety of different networks and platforms. In addition to his work with Opus he is a trustee at Voluntary Action Sheffield, a social entrepreneur in residence at Sheffield Hallam University, the General Secretary of the Independent Media Association and a supervisory board member of Citizen Network.

Don’t forget to bring your lunch with you into this online space along with any questions you might have when you join us to hear James’ story.

Delivered by Sheffield Social Enterprise Network, in partnership with Social Enterprise Exchange.
