Need a bit of lunchtime motivation? Our Lunch With… events offer a great way to help you learn from others in and out of the social enterprise sector.

Come and hear one account from Olivier Tsemo, CEO at SADACCA (Sheffield and District African Caribbean Community Association). Find out about his experience of leading and transforming a large community facility into a centre of excellence in community learning whilst enjoying some tasty Caribbean food.

Olivier is an accomplished mathematics consultant and a proud totemist leader from the Great Bamileke Kingdom of Bayangam in Central Africa. Before joining SADACCA he was a senior lecturer and researcher in both applied mathematics and mathematics education. He also served as the President of the African community of South Yorkshire between 2002 and 2011.

Olivier is a leading figure in the voluntary sectors both locally and nationally. He is currently Co-Chair of both the Sheffield Voluntary and Community Sector Leaders Forum and the Sheffield Culture Consortium and served as a commissioner on the Sheffield Race Equality Commission. He regularly advises politicians and is a high-profile contributor in the media, The Parliamentary Review, The Leaders Council of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and at national and international conferences.

SADACCA has been committed to serving the needs of the African and Caribbean community in Sheffield for more than 38 years. From delivering education programmes and measures to tackle deficiencies in mainstream services to providing a day care facility and signposting to appropriate health services, they strive to support local people regardless of their background or circumstances.

After hearing from Olivier and engaging in some discussion, there’ll be the opportunity for those that wish to view the extensive community facilities at SADACCA.

The event will take place in the Day Care Centre on Windrush Way (just round the corner from the main SADACCA entrance on the Wicker). The venue is a short walk from Sheffield bus and railway stations and the Fitzalan Square tram stop. There is limited free parking behind the main SADACCA building. Other parking is available on the Windrush Way Car Park.

We have limited spaces for this event. Book early to avoid disappointment! We ask that you please register at least 72 hours prior to the event. Although the event is free, if you find that you are no longer able to make your place, please do try to give us 72 hours notice so that we can give relevant numbers to the venue.
