We believe that being inspired by others is one of the best ways to stay passionate and motivated to continue doing what is important to you… and who doesn’t need a bit of motivation after 2020! Come and find out what drives Ursula Myrie, Founder and Managing Director of Adira, a social enterprise supporting Black people who have been or are affected by mental health and/or emotional wellbeing.

Ursula set up Adira as a survivor led mental health and well-being service to support black people with mental health issues. She is a survivor of severe historic abuse and domestic violence as well as being a mum and consultant for the Care Quality Commission. Adira provides safe meeting spaces, education and training, information and advice, and social and leisure activities for members of the Black community who have experienced or are currently experiencing mental health issues. You can find out more about Adira’s work at www.adira.org.uk.

In this session, Ursula will share her powerful personal story and how it drove her to begin the work she does now as a social entrepreneur. Remember to bring your lunch with you into this online space, and you may want to have a tissue or two at the ready for when you hear more about Ursula’s inspiring and passionate story.
